1

Initial Assessment

Sonder Energy will conduct an initial assessment of your land and the power infrastructure near your property.

3

Development

Once a lease or purchase agreement is in place, Sonder Energy will begin project development, permitting and design. During this two to four year phase, you maintain full control and use of your land while earning additional income from Sonder Energy.

5

Operations

Once constructed, the solar farm will operate for the next 30+ years generating clean, reliable electricity free from air, noise and light pollution

2

Offer

If the initial assessment is positive, Sonder Energy will make an offer to either buy or lease your property. Sonder Energy is able to pay significantly above typical agricultural values for your land.

4

Construction

After all permits are received, construction will begin. It will take approximately 12 months to construct the project.

LAND REQUIREMENTS

If you are fortunate enough to own land that is attractive for solar, you could see significant financial benefits. Generally, solar projects require land that is:

FLAT TO GENTLY ROLLING

NOT IN WETLANDS OR FLOODPLAIN

Power Lines

NEAR TRANSMISSION LINES

WITH AVAILABLE CAPACITY

LANDOWNER BENEFITS

COMMUNITIES WITH SOLAR PROJECTS SEE POSITIVE IMPACTS TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY

NEW JOBS Hundreds of people are required to build a solar project. In addition, the local economy will benefit from the increased spending at local restaurants, stores, and hotels. Once the solar facility is operating, there are a few permanent operations and maintenance jobs for the life of the project.

TAX REVENUE which can be used for schools, parks, services, or to lower the tax burden on services like police, fire, schools, roads, sewer & water, there is no cost to the community.

FARMING IMPACT

Supplying the entire U.S. with 100% PV solar energy would require about 0.6% of America’s total land area. Only a portion of farmland meets the criteria for solar energy generation which includes buildability and the appropriate utility access. And when a project is decommissioned, the land is returned to its original state, and farmers have the opportunity to go back to farming their land if they choose.
